About Kathy Kates

Senior Legal Assistant & Bookkeeper

As the firm’s “matriarch,” Kathleen brings an unparalleled level of experience and institutional knowledge to our team. Her partnership with George Badey III began in February 1984, predating the founding of our current firm by over two decades.

For more than 40 years, Kathleen has been the primary support for George’s practice, having assisted in dozens of jury trials since his very first verdict in August 1984. From drafting complex motions and memos to managing the firm’s bookkeeping and vendor relations, Kathleen ensures the office runs with precision.

A lifelong Philadelphian, Kathleen was raised in Port Richmond and is a proud graduate of Hallahan Catholic High School for Girls. Now a resident of the Far Northeast, she remains deeply connected to the city’s traditions, including many years spent participating in the Mummers Parade. When she isn’t keeping the office in order, Kathleen enjoys summer weekends “down the shore” in Wildwood or spending time with her three grandsons. An Irishwoman through and through, she is famous for her sparkly green nails every St. Patrick’s Day.
